2018 Life Goals – New Year No Fear

12th January 2018

I’m not one to make New Years resolutions. Scrap that… I’m not one to stick to them. 2018 will be absolutely no different. Just the term New Years resolution instantly triggers the anxiety I feel at the end of every year. So much pressure to succeed! The one question that I ask myself constantly that usually makes me focus on the negative.

What have I actually achieved?’

I hate this question because I am my own worst critic. I compare myself to others and never look for the answers to why. The blogging world has really opened my eyes to the reality that Instagram and amazing blog photos do not equal real life! I will take and edit a beautiful picture of my Christmas tree and know that I had to kick the dog bed out the way and just out of shot is a dust covered side table with a mass of tangled phone and internet router wires. Yet I don’t identify that when I look at the other amazing Insta feeds out there. So many perfect lives and mine is a mess! This year I am making a conscious effort to give myself a list of life goals. Small changes to make my life more productive, have more energy and lower stress.

Drink more water – both at work and at home

Eat healthier – not only eat healthier but explore new recipes and make an effort to cook

Start using a planner – my Kikki K planner is sat waiting to be used

Exercise – in general!

Blog more – set myself a doable goal of 2-3 posts a month

Travel  – city breaks and weekend hotel stays

Photography – There is always room to improve on skills

Take time to stop and appreciate life – look for the positive

Relax – long baths and early nights, where shift work allows

Wear Make-up – a little mascara goes a long way

and finally – get my SPARKLE back!

There we have it, my first physical list of small and achievable life improvement goals for 2018. Out there for the world to see and I can make nary an excuse. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how things pan out. I have spent the last 2 years in an emotional rut and this year will be my year! Raise a glass people!!

Ok… time for a side note.  2018 – my luck to a tee!

Well! January got off to a slow start blog wise. There I was, new years eve, first blog post of the year half written and raring to go the on January the 1st. Nope, OK then. January 2nd it was!  I mean I was working night shifts over New Years and a girl needs her sleep. Woke up ready to get my first post of 2018 up only to find the computer had gone. ‘Shite!’ Turns out the thing crapped out and the Husband took it in the shop to be repaired. Almost 2 weeks into January and I’ve blown one of my goals, my 2018 blog life has gone arse up already but totally out of my hands!I shall bounce back!!!

Anywhoo, as you were…..
